Staten Island, NY |
I went to Dr Shiau with a bad disc herniation in my lowet back causing extreme discomfort in my leg. After trying non-surgical options first with no relief, we opted for surgery. Dr Shiau sat with me and discussed every detail of the surgery so I was very comfortable with the decision. The surgery lasted only 45 minutes and I walked out of the hospital pain free.
Bronx, NY |
This review is for Staten Island office at Targee street. They have absolutely no regards to their patients. You NEVER get in on time! Today, we are here 3 hours and this is ABSOLUTELY NORMAL (It's been like this for the last 2 years) I asked them specificaly what is the wait and advised them that I have another appointment 3 hours later that I cannot miss. On top of that Iam only here for paperwork which they refused to accept via fax. STAY AWAY!
Jackson, NJ |
I read all the reviews and I have to say that the one star is not accurate. He is a wonderful surgeon and spent time explaining what I had and what all my options were - surgical and non-surgical. He was able to do my surgery minimally invasive and I went home 45 minutes after my surgery for a herniated disc. I am now pain free.
New York, NY |
Dr. Shiau spent quite a lot of time with me and I did not feel rushed. He offered a minimally invasive option that was completely different than the opinions I got with other surgeons. I searched for minimally invasive surgeons and even those surgeons would say it wasn't possible. I saw him in Manhattan and there was no wait at all.
in Collingswood, NJ |
I am forever grateful for Dr Shiau. When every doctor turned me down and said there was no hope, he took the time to evaluate my situation, and corrected a previous surgeons mistake. I was in pain 24/7 and had no hope to ever live a pain-free life. He is an excellent surgeon, and a very compassionate man. I would recommend him to anyone who is in pain and has lost hope. I cannot thank him enough for giving me my life back. Diane H Collingswood NJ

The gripes regarding wait time seems like it was a bad day because I waited only 30 minutes in Manhattan. I came to see him for minimally invasive spinal surgery.

I had a 3:30 appointment, it's now 5:10 and I still haven't been called in to see him yet.
