Dr. Nelson is a kind, compassionate and highly skilled physician. He always takes time to provide explanations, review testing and develops a plan of care. He sits down with you and spends time with you, a rarity these days. I would highly recommend him..

I have met with Dr. Nelson twice in the last few months, the first was in July the night before my hip replacement surgery when he approved me being able to do the surgery with my COPD. At that time he requested that after my recovery from the surgery that I have a CT scan of my lunges. I did the scan and it was found that I had places on my right lunge. Dr. Nelson then set up a PET scan to determine if the nodules were cancerous they were not. Dr. Nelson is the best I have ever met.

Dr. Nelson is very compassionate and understanding. He takes his time, shares your test results explaining everything in clear down-to-earth manner. Is interested in you as a person and how that affects your condition. I would recommend him to anyone needing a pulmonologist.
in Kansas City, KS |
While working for a group of doctors, I had several occasions to refer patients to pulmonary doctors. Unfortunately in 2008, I required a Pulmonologist due to abnormal chest X-ray. Of course, to me, that was a 'no brained'. I chose John Nelson, MD. I was treated with respect, and kindness. Again this past year, I've had the occasion to see him, once again. I couldn't ask for a more compassionate doctor. I'm thankful to say, my situation is resolving. Thank you, Dr John Nelson for your care.

Dr. Nelson is very friendly and took his time with me, plus he showed me on his PC the CT scan, etc. and explained it very easily to me. I found that to be very helpful. I would recommend him for anyone in need of pulmonary services.

Lenexa, KS |
Dr. Nelson is the most intelligent and compassionate physician I've ever known. I was in the ER at 6am one morning and I requested they call him. While the ER doc balked and told me I didn't need a pulmonary doc, I insisted. They called and Dr. Nelson was by my side within an hour, ON SUNDAY MORNING, and it turns out I certainly DID need a pulmonary specialist and he probably saved my life. They had missed something in the ER. He is the BEST and you won't find many like him around!
Leawood, KS |
Dr. Nelson has a mild and caring manner about him. He understands when you are worried about something on a test and completely explains results with simple explanations that you can understand. Very dedicated.
in Saint Joseph, MO |
