Rude staff
Called about my mom who is patient having recurring nose bleeds and is on blood thinner. Was offered appointment a month away, no suggestions or even empathy. Receptionist was very rude.

I don’t know much about the doctor as he worked on a family member. HOWEVER, I called to follow up on a simple request and I can you tell you ONE of his female staff members name Elda is extremely rude and unwilling to help with a sever attitude problem. she chose the wrong line of business and should work somewhere else . if you want to have a good experience with staff, don’t go here.

Proficient, knowledgeable, and compassionate
Dr. McCaffery is an excellent surgeon and also a very caring, considerate, and thoughtful doctor. I value his treatments and his advice. I have been seeing Dr. McCaffery for over ten years now. He took excellent care of my husband when my husband was living with ALS. He is my doctor as well, and I feel very confident that I am getting the best care with my issues from him. With my recommendation, my 91 year old mother also has been seeing him, and she appreciates the respect and care he gives her, despite her age.

Rest assured of professionalism
Dr. McCaffery - one can feel confident of his expertise. He is personable, attentive, and inspires a feeling that he cares about providing excellent medical advice. Even though the office is a further drive than most of my medical appointments, I have continued with Dr. McCaffery because of the professionalism experienced at his office.

You mean him? Never!
An ENT surgeon who cannot wear his mask appropriately? Hmm just how good a surgeon is he? Says to a man in a wheelchair dependent on transit, just walk across the block to get your X-ray… dude digitalxrays available everywhere, they could also be done at any cottage urgent care! Finally wonder if mask thing was a bad day? His staff all barely wore their own. He might be good if you can get past his hubris and lack of concern.

I am sorry to report that I had a terrible visit with Dr. McCaffery. I was on time for my appointment and by the time I was brought back to see Dr. McCaffery, five other people were waiting for him. That communicated to me that he was scheduling patients back to back and most likely he would be rushing me. And so he did. No less than 2 times he said out loud "I already told you that." I was shocked. I asked him to please not talk to me that way and he responded "But I've already told you several times". If he has to communicate his message 10 times before the client understand then so be it. He finished by saying "this isn't going to work out" and gave me the deductible I already paid back. Also, he had recent surgery on his eye and at the end of our conversation he was standing about 3 feet away from me and took off his mask entirely to wipe his face. Yes, I was angry when I left but also sad that he wouldn't know better not to talk to people this way.

Dr. McCaffery did my ear surgery. The appointments leading up to exam were concise and informative. Following the surgery there were no complications and the information provided by the doctor answered all my questions that did arise. The follow up appointments were brief and to the point. Great experience with zero complaints.

I went to Dr. McCaffrey to treat my case of Surfers ear. He was very considerate and and straight forward to work with. I am very pleased with the result and the entire process. His staff is excellent and it is clear that they all know their jobs and very good at what they do. I never found my self waiting or left for an unreasonable time.

I've had several appointments with Dr. McCaffery, and my impression of him is entirely negative. His communication skills aren't poor; they're essentially non-existent. I suspect he is high functioning on the autism spectrum, but this does not give him a pass for not speaking clearly to patients. After my most recent visit I was so frustrated that I vowed to never seek medical help from him again.

Dr McCaffery corrected my "surfers ear" and it was the best possible outcome in all ways. Not only was there no pain in my ear after the surgery, which was very surprising considering the procedure, but I healed in exactly 4 weeks and was back in the water. Nothing but the highest marks!

Dr. McCaffery is the best surgeon/physician I have ever experienced. I had a very complicated and risky nasal surgery and he was the only one who was willing to take it on. He is the best at what he does and it went perfectly. He also took the extra time in the surgery to make sure that everything would turn out okay. His communication style is also exceptional--warm, friendly, got to know me as a person, followed up several times by calling me at home to see how I was doing, etc. The best.
