I understood that there was a delay because of an emergency at the hospital. This put the doctor behind more than an hour. Otherwise, the staff was nice and explained everything to me. Although, I spent almost 3 hours there. My procedure was a simple colonoscopy and there wasn't much to talk about, I was in excellent condition for my age. The most annoying thing was the waiting room TV; it was loud and nothing but advertising. Of all the things during my time there that was the most annoying.

I am shocked at some of the reviews on this site regarding Dr. Mathews and Dr. Brandt. My husband had a colonoscopy and it was definitely a positive experience. I went to the ER with pain and Dr Mathews was called in in my case. This Dr saved my life. He does not beat around the bush or sugar coat diagnosis and that is exactly what I want in a doctor. I also saw Dr Brandt while in the hospital and he was great too. I would highly recommend either of them if you are having issues.

Dr Mathews is a no nonsense, extremely thorough doctor. He diagnosed my problem after two tests (upper GI done in the hospital on an urgent basis) and colonoscopy done in his facility. His facility is every bit as good as any hospital. The staff is kind, gentle and thorough. I trust my life to these people.
Dr Matthews SUCKS! He is rude and has no bedside manners. He is not a proactive doctor and allowed my husbands disease to progress from very mild to severe. He never took us seriously. When my husband had a severe ulcerative colitis flare, I left 4 messages for his nurse to call me back and she never returned my phone calls despite the voicemail saying they'll return your call by the end of the day. I am so disappointed in the care we received and will never recommend him or his staff to anyone!

Dr Mathews displayed serious disrespect for my experience with my own health issue. He didn't fully explain the specifics of all that he found during my colonoscopy in August of 2016. I had to research it for myself....which his technician/nurse advised against before my procedure....and found it not to be as serious as he led me to believe, afterwhich, he advised me to take a medication that I cannot tolerate. He didn't listen to me. I don't trust him or his staff. I won't see him again.
Mathews Staff refused appointment due to nursing home patient not able to arrive at exact time. Rude to driver from care facility, never addressed patient. Sent them away with empty waiting room . Patient had waited 3 weeks for this appointment. Also Rude to nurse on phone who handled details of appointment and paperwork at care facility. Rude to family member who was present. later learned they do not want nursing home patients.
