Dr.Mariani did the wrong surgery on my right knee. I conveyed my rheumatologist's message that I needed a knee replacement NOT arthroscopic surgery. He hesitated when I said that as if he were afraid of doing knee replacement. I trusted him and he ended up removing the little cartilage I had on one side of the knee. I suffered tremendously, limped, had excruciating pain for almost one year. After many visits to see him he turned to me and said" Can you leave with what you have left??I

Dr. Mariani was courteous: however, when i conveyed the message from my rheumatologist that I should not let any orthopedic surgeon talk me into doing arthroscopic surgery, he hesitated as if he were afraid of doing the much needed knee replacement. Well I trusted him and went ahead with arthroscopic surgery. The end result was that he left me without ANY cartilage bone rubbing on bone. I suffered tremendously until July16 when I finally had knee replacement. I got my life back, after 1 year!
