One of the best!
Diagnosed with NHL in late 2008. Dr. Kessler told me that it was not curable but I would be the second patient he cured. His upbeat attitude went a long way to improving my mental state. It's now late 2022. I have 1 more chemo (Oct 6) in this series and then we adopt a wait and see. I credit him with saving my life. Can't say "Thank you" enough!

Dr. Kessler is very informative of my husband's condition. He always reviews my husband's medications and any side effects that may contribute to his condition. About 13 years ago doctor Kessler literally saved my husband's life. As a Jehovah's Witness. my husband did not accept blood for his illness, Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP), which could have been fatal. Dr. Kessler respected our religious beliefs, administered an alternate treatment, and my husband recovered from his condition, which is usually treated with blood. I fully trust Kr. Kessler. He is an excellent communicator, experienced doctor, extremely knowledgeable, and just a good person. I know Dr. Kessler has the best interest of my husband and all his patients. I highly recommend Dr. Kessler! I don't believe my husband would be here today without his expertise. The minute he walks in the room, you feel his concern and care.

Review Va. Oncology
I was in recently for my 6 mos check and saw Dr Kessler who is my Hematologist. He truly is the best. Great “bedside manor”, takes time to listen to my concerns, and found my numerical result from finger stick were way out of wack. Had been just over a month since my last finger stick when my results were near perfect. He addressed the problem which was my fault. Awesome Doctor, awesome person. Dr Kessler was also my husbands oncologist when he was diagnosed with Lung Cancer 10 1/2 yrs ago. He was everything I could want in an Oncologist for my husband. Treated my husband with kindness and respect and included me in all updates and such. Dr Kessler is going to be retiring in about a year or so…going to miss him something fierce! Va Oncology is the best when you are at your worst.

Been a patient since 2019, diagnosed with extremely rare condition. Dr. Kesssler who recommended an aggressive treatment which in 2020 resulted in remission. Throughout my entire experience Dr. Kessler explained all options, along with risks and benefits. Dr. Kessler maintained a professional demeanor, while still being open to discussion around no medical including West Virginia football. I am very thankful I met Dr. Kessler and would wholeheartedly recommend his services.

Follow-up on cancer condition. Dr. Kessler has been my oncology doctor for 4 years, treating polycythemia (excess of red blood cells). During that time he also insisted on monitoring a small growth in my right lung, through CT scans or MRIs every 6 moths or so. nothing changed for 3.5 years, but then it did. I had surgery to remove that growth, which tested as a stage 1 cancer. His diligence literally saved my life. He is also one of the most personable and capable physicians I've every met - he really cares about his patients. He and his team have my deep respect and I would highly recommend him.
