Dr. Hubbard is arrogant and his practice methodology is in need of update. While it may be normal to drug test patients in this field, the manner in which he does it is not as patient centered as other doctors I have seen who have been trained more recently. He needs to work on compassion and practice less medicine based on questionnaires and stilted practice manuals. The human element of validation, compassion, and understanding is not there. He is pompous and arrogant because I believe he did his residency at Harvard. But his practice is in a decrepit building and he is affiliated with a low ranked hospital, DCH (Don´t Come Here). You would be better off going to Birmingham or better yet, an actual major city where the majority of the populace does not see you as possessing a moral failing for having a disease. Dr. Hubbard needs to seek continuing education or retire. I sought care in Oregon and California and am in remission. I got worse after visiting Hubbard.

Never spends more than 5 minutes per appointment. Never looks away from his laptop. Asks the same questions but doesn't care about the answers and doesn't notice when the answers change. He'll definitely interrupt you if you discuss the "wrong" medication first. Condescending and doesn't care about you at all.

Consistently reschedules appointments, some patients three times in a row, when they’ve tried to schedule appointments due to feelings suicidal. Sets the next date two months ahead, by that time he’ll be the result of a suicide. Not sure how a psychiatrist can practice or live with a clear mind knowing that

I had two sessions with him. During the first, he didn't listen to anything I said and gave me a false diagnosis. He asked why I was on a certain med that's been helping me for almost a decade and decided to take me off of it, tapering it at a rate that is dangerous and can have severe consequences. I ended up having a suicide attempt and landing in the hospital. You could tell that he was just so done with everything and didn't give a crap about his patients. Avoid for your own safety.

Right off the bat he treats you like a drug seeker by giving you a drug test, doesn't want to listen to why your there just look at what prescriptions your own and draw his opinion of you off that all while telling you how hes been doing this over 20 years and taught classes. Honestly its like sitting in on a seminar hes giving about himself and the way he tries to push antidepressants he must own stock in them.

Does not seem to care or enjoy what he does. His office staff is below par as well. They seem frustrated when they have to make a phone call to an insurance company, which is their job. They don't seem to want to help. I would not recommend.

Very cold and holier than thou attitude. Doesn't seem to care, treats you like you are stupid. He also goes on the premis that everyone is a drug addict. Everyone is drug tested every time they enter the office. Really?

It's taking a week for them to certify my insurance so I can then make an appointment. My insurance is Aetna which is one of the larger insurers in America. Weird.
