Dr. Golan's bio

This content was provided by Dr. Golan "After attending Duke University, I received my MD degree from the Loyola Stritch School of Medicine and completed residencies at Baylor University Medical Center and Loyola University Medical Center. I received Board Certifications in General Surgery and General Vascular Surgery and am now a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons. I've been practitioner and teacher of Vascular Surgery for thirty-one years. In 2002 I was the first physician in the Chicago area to perform EVLT (endovenous laser therapy) which is now the most common procedure for treating varicose veins. I've authored over twenty articles, spoken at dozens of conferences and belong to nine associations in my field of expertise. In 2005 I established North Shore Vascular, a private independent vascular surgery practice in Northfield, where I spend most of my time performing laser procedures for patients with varicose veins. I also maintain an active arterial practice as an attending physician at three NorthShore Medical Center hospitals, Evanston Hospital, Highland Park Hospital and Glenbrook Hospital. Teaching remains important to me as a Senior Clinician Educator at the Pritzker School of Medicine. My wife, Diane, is runs the business end of North Shore Vascular, and we have two grown daughters, Grace and Emily."

Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Dr. Golan "We are all about outstanding, personalized vascular care.

No two people are alike, whether you need treatment for your varicose veins or spider veins – or have an arterial issue, you deserve an individualized plan of care tailored to your needs. We always encourage second opinions. We're not a "vein center," nor are we part of a healthcare company or hospital system. We're not saddled with quotas or corporate overhead that can result in excessive charges for procedures and tests. Compare your out of pocket expenses from an independent medical practice versus a hospital system – you may be very surprised. "
