Patient visist
Visits with Dr. Giannakis have been getting shorter and shorter over the years and are lately 5-6 minutes. He gives the impression to be in a hurry, not to be present and wanting to get on with more important things. One is forced to pose follow-up questions on the patient portal which are answered in one or two syllables but all this may suit others.

Good doctor, terrible staff
I like the doctor, though he can seem rushed sometimes. His staff is very rude, calling for an appointment is extremely difficult. Probably will seek another urologist only because of staff, both front desk and medical assistants.

Receptionist Horrible - the rudeness of the front office person who sits on the left is horrible. I thought initially she was having a bad day, but has had an attitude for several visits over several months. She loud speaks your business where everyone can hear and does not care that she offends you. Finding another urologist...

Dr. Giannakis did a TERP procedure on my husband . He told me that everything went well. 2 days later he took out his catheter and said “ let me see you in 3 months”. Because of the very unhelpful staff and doctor, we were referred by a friend to another urologist because he couldn’t urinate. He then had to be re catherized . A few weeks later when he healed more, the new doctor scoped my husband and said he has to get another TERP procedure because the first one only did half the job and he is still restricted. We are not at all impressed with Dr. Giannakis or his staff.

Dr. G. is a good urologist and has performed lithotripsy on me for kidney stones several times. Good follow up, lets me know what I need to do. Office visits can be long wait in the exam room, depending on time of day, and other patients. But that is probably the fault of the other patients. Staff and Dr. G. are friendly.

Dr. Giannakis was very helpful. He gave me the information I needed, checked the CT that was recently done at Herman Memorial and performed a procedure to verify those results. I felt confident when leaving his office that I was fully aware of my condition and I enjoyed his humor!

Very satisfied with Dr. Giannakis and his treatments. However, his office staff (particularly those responsible for scheduling appointments) are horrible. I have appointments changed without notice (they say they leave phone messages of the change but they do not). There is absolutely no followup on appointments by the staff. And when you speak to them about this they are rude, short, and condescending. This is the absolute worst treatment I have had by a doctor's office. I have had a regiment of treatments that I am half-way through and I can't see the doctor in a timely manner to finish the regiment. So the treatments up to now have been negated. I have owned multimillion dollar companies and if these people worked for me I would fire every one of them. Curious how they continue to stay open. Go elsewhere. How extremely rude and unprofessional. And to top it off, no apologies or attempts to rectify.

I have gone to Dr G for years for kidney stones. After my last surgery I was instructed to call in for an appointment for my follow up. When I did call I was told to check back in 6 months. Dr G is good...his office and staff is lacking. I have found me another urologist.

Horror Story. I went in for a vasectomy in Dec. 2016. The procedure was supposed to take 2-3 min. Instead it was a 10 minute procedure that was VERY painful. Needless to say, I was still hopeful. In 3 months my results were still positive (detecting sperm.) In 6 months the same. 1 year later, after being told that it was successful and to wait... it was confirmed that the procedure FAILED! After $600+ worth of lap tests, I was offered to do the procedure again, NO THANKS!

Long time patient for over 10 years. would go in and tell him my urination problems and would only tell me to use more of my RX to make it better. Developed major pain in groin area in January, spent 5 days in hospital, released, told to follow up with Urologist, again waited 2 to 3 for him to find someone to do biopsy never heard back. I went to PCP got needed biopsy done. Now in treatment for Stage 4 Prostate Cancer.

I had a vasectomy performed by Dr. Giannakis a couple years back and I have been in pain ever since. I was told my risks were bleeding and infection. I am currently in pain all the time in my pelvic and scrotal area. I have seen a lot of doctors and spent a lot of money trying to get out of pain. He damaged my genitofemoral nerve and I will probably have pain the rest of my life. I never had any health issues until the procedure with Dr. G. think twice before getting this procedure done.
