West Des Moines, Iowa |
Dr. Gaffey is a very talented surgeon, and he has a decent bedside manner. His receptionist Tina is incredibly rude. She argued with me repeatedly on the phone and hung up on me at one point. It's a shame that someone as talented as Dr. Gaffey has office staff that are as unprofessional as Tina. I would not recommend him, but only because of Tina. If he has a new receptionist, and you can avoid Tina, he is top notch.

Unhappy Gaffey experience (details upon request): I cried after my Gaffey visit during which he hinted at dark preconceptions about me. I called to set a follow up appt after setting appt w/my neuro (per Gaffey) & was told he'd be out for 8 wks, unpleasantly. I spoke to a DMOS admin who kindly listened/spoke w/no apology of offer of a new dr. I tried scheduling a new dr. Was told no dr at DMOS would see me until I saw a neuro ¡& rheumatologist?!, per Gaffey. Sad. No dr visit should hurt his way.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment. Because DMOS takes privacy seriously, and to comply with Federal HIPAA laws, we cannot comment on any specific situations. If you are a patient, we apologize for the experience and we would be more than happy to speak by phone at 800-245-6129.
