1st "visit" was on the phone due to COVID. Though the call was short (consult for a C-scopy), he was very patient in listening to my questions & answering them. I left feeling better about the unpleasantness of the upcoming procedure. At the procedure, I still felt good about having chosen him. I've even already recommended him to a friend.

My visit on the phone with Dr. Cunningham was very good. He asked me what was going on, I told him, and we figured out a plan. I would recommend Dr. Cunningham to anyone. My primary, Dr. Gaytan, had me go to him but I also found out a good friend of mine has been going to him for a while and she thinks he's the best.

Due to the Lockdown, Dr. Cunningham and his nurse refused to lower their masks so I could understand what they were saying. I have a hearing definition problem Therefore, i gained little information during my visit. Dr. Cunningham did write out the over the counter meds I am to take which helped. I hope that with the stool test, there will be some more light shed on my problem

I was very pleased and grateful to have the chance to visit with Dr. Cunningham as he calmly listened to my symptoms and provided sound advice and guidance on what would be the best next steps for us to take to resolve my issues. I was also pleased that Dr. Cunningham took into consideration of health benefits and what procedures might be covered and a back up plan if a certain procedure would not be covered. The staff is very pleasant, professional, and helpful.

I had a telehealth consult with Dr. Cunningham. He came highly recommended by my primary care doctor. During the consult, he was friendly, professional, astute and listened intently as I explained my health situation. He was very thorough with answering my questions and spent a good amount time with me, not finishing the call until I felt comfortable with the information provided. I also appreciated him giving me options for ways we could approach getting answers regarding my health issues. I trust I am good hands and feel comfortable moving forward with the diagnostic procedures he recommended. His office staff called quickly to schedule and they were also friendly and professional.

I am at high risk for colorectal cancer due to DNA and family death history. I have a colonoscopy every 3 years and this experience was by far the best. I have had the procedure 6 times now. I recently moved to Hill Country and this was my first colonoscopy with Dr. Cunningham. I was in and out in about 1 and a half hours.

Dr. John Cunningham consulted with me great. He communicated with clear information on my health. However, he was going to have someone call me back later on having my blood drawn at a lab with an appointment. In the mean time, he was going to review my hospital records. This was on May 6. Someone has called me back. I will call to follow up on my status.

My telephone appointment was very helpful. Dr. Cunningham was a very kind listener. He then was able to give me understandable possibilities and recommend next steps. I look forward to meeting him in person. Also, Jazzman was awesome in assisting with appointment and information. I also spoke with Rachel to schedule a procedure and she was great in ensuring I understood all that was required! Thanks to all!

Found him very informed and professional. Gave other options over surgery. Spent enough time to get facts, and course of action needed for next step in diagnosis.

How was your experience with Dr. Cunningham?

About Me

Dr. Cunningham was inspired to pursue a career in medicine by his grandfather, a general practitioner in his hometown of Dalhart. As a young boy, he spent many hours at his medical office and saw firsthand the good work he did for the community on a daily basis. He knew from a very young age that he wanted to follow in his footsteps.

"Gastroenterology offers a unique ability to immediately impact patients' lives in a positive manner through endoscopic procedures. I love having the ability to assess a patient's complaint with endoscopic evaluations and provide instant feedback on their condition." – J. Ryan Cunningham, MD
