Dr. Chi did an L5-S1 fusion for my spondylolisthesis. I am going on 3 years since my 2016 surgery and doing extremely well with self-taught pain management that does not include pharmaceutical drugs. I was even out of the hospital a day early walking up and down stairs only hours after surgery. Dr. Chi mentioned my tattoo at my initial appointment. I told him I didn't care about it, I just wanted to walk normal again and ease my excruciatingly painful muscle spasms. But he made the incision between the tattoo masquerade mask so perfect anyway. He had 3/4 inch space to work with, got right in the middle and completely preserved the tattoo and it healed with very little scarring. You can barely see it! Thank you so much, Dr. Chi.

I cannot overstate how rude and arrogant Dr. Chi is. He barely looked up from his phone and was texting the entire appointment. He did not explain the MRI. Once he knew that I did not want to rush into surgery he lost all interest. He spent less than 10 minutes with me. He made comments such as, "you cannot make an old car new". I went to him for an expert opinion to help chart a path and understand my spinal stenosis and spondylosis. He showed no compassion or care. It was shocking!

I am highly educated 50 yr. who went to see Dr. Chi for an opinion for a serious neck condition. He did not review my answers to my level of pain, my function of life, and acted like this was an inconvenience to him. I had been to another surgeon. He did not listen. He said "People in pain too long before surgery then have surgery just don't improve after surgery because they are conditioned to feeling the pain they are in." So let the person suffer? This is a doctor?

I am so thankful to have had my Cervical surgery with Dr. Chi. He explained the entire process and answered every question I had. He noticed things on my MRI no other Dr. noticed and did further CT scan to confirm. Brigham and Woman's Hospital and patients like myself are very lucky to have such a skilled caring surgeon. Thank you Dr. Chi for giving me my life back!!!

Dr. Chi was amazing!!! He was the first neurosurgeon out of 4 others who read my MRI and told me it was very obvious why I was in constant pain and could barely walk. He suggested L3-L5 Fusion. After living with pain for almost 2 years I scheduled the surgery. Just before I went under he told me that when I woke up all the pain in my right leg would be gone. I had/have no pain in my leg and am doing incredibly well. He is very skilled and very competent .
