About Me

Growing up listening to his father, an insurance agent, tell the stories of his clients had a profound effect on the kind of physician Dr. John Canales would become. "I like hearing my patients' stories. I think it makes me a better interventionalist because I understand where they're coming from and how my treatments may affect their lives," says Dr. Canales.

I have not had to make any urgent appointments, so I can not give a rating on this issue. The Doctor does have to respond to emergency situations which can result in delays for routine patients.

Dr. Canales is someone who takes time to listen to what his patient is telling him. He asks questions to make sure that all information is obtained and makes his recommendation for what needs to be done next. This may involve a test that needs to be run or a change in medication or dosage amount. If he feels you need to be seen more often or less often it is always because he cares about his patient and knows what is best.

We love Dr. Canales, He has a wonderful personality, very professional yet very personal. He treat all of his patients like his own family. Extremely care about your overall heath not just on your heart. We love him and trust him completely, that is the reason why we both (Me & My husband) come to see him. We will follow him where ever he goes. We want him to take care of our hearts as long as he is in his practice. The only issue we had on last visited was when the nurses called both me and my husband (we both made our appointments at the same time)in to the room, it was rush and both nurses tried to get blood pressure, filled out the forms and other procedures on both of us at the same time in the same room. We felt like we are being pushed to get it done in a hurry.

Cool guy.....he takes the time to answer any questions you might have, passes on any information you might find helpful, and even takes time to visit. Unlike many others, he doesn't rush you in and out assembly-line style. Waiting time is usually short as well and the office staff is proficient. Only one complaint: Every time you go in, you have to fill out the same form even when nothing has changed - what a waste of paper!!

Professional, with a very down to earth & friendly manner. My 1st appt with Dr. Canales was the day before my knee surgery. All of a sudden the hospital said they needed a release from a Cardiologist before they could perform the surgery. This was all very last minute & could have ended up in my surgery being delayed. I called around & was getting no where. No one could see me that day. His office understood my situation & scheduled an appt for me that very afternoon. I couldn't even get my PCP to call me back & I had been going to her for years. He will never know how much I appreciated his responsiveness.

Dr. Canales listens to my questions and best of all explains the reason for a particular test or medication. He is great on follow up as I recently had a medication change that was indicated.

The staff is very helpful and friendly. As I was being led back to the waiting room Dr. Canales went out of his way to shake hands with me. The office had more of a home feeling rather than an office.

I was at the office on a day with hospital and clinic emergencies. The staff was excellent at maintaining a calm and professional office experience with apologies to the patients waiting and the reassurance that Dr. Canales would spend as much time as needed for each patient and their health needs. I was a new patient that day and indeed when we saw the doctor we did not feel rushed and all of our questions and concerns were addressed in a very professional manner.. Recommend him highly.
