I've been seeing Dr. Bragg for about 10 years. He is an active listener, asks probing questions to help with diagnoses and treatment plans. He takes his time with you and never seems rushed. He is a walking encyclopedia of meds. Due to the nature of my illness, my meds and dosages have to bee changed or adjusted quite frequently. Dr. Bragg offers cafeful alternative meds and is forthcoming about potential side effects. He has a calming, caring and measured disposition, which is helpful to me during periods of crisis. Given the less than stellar status of mental health treatment options in Columbia, SC, I feel fortunate to have Dr. Bragg on my care team.

  • Appointment wasn't rushed
  • Listened & answered questions
  • Trusted the provider's decisions

Dr. John Earl Bragg should have his medical license revoked. He is a careless, inattentive clinician who has treated both myself and my family with disastrous consequences. He failed to cross-titrate me from one SSRI drug to another, leading to toxic shock/serotonin syndrome that resulted in akathisia and suicidality (which he blamed on my "anxiety disorder" and not his own recklessness). He also has one of my family members, who happens to be an active alcoholic and prescribed methadone user, even more impaired on a cocktail of prescriptions, some addictive, including Xanax, clonidine, gabapentin, Remeron, and Effexor. This may be TMI on the personal/medical history, but hopefully it also gives insight for any prospective patients who might happen to stumble upon this fool. How Bragg got to become the clinical director of ANYTHING is totally beyond me, and I hope the South Carolina Medical Board happens upon this review and investigates him further.

Several years ago, Dr Bragg helped with my grandchildren. I still think of those visits often and wish I could call him for some advice from time to time. I adopted my two grandchildren out of a terrible situation. He helped us get thru some really tough times. I would recommend him any day and as a matter of fact, I have in the past. I would like to thank him and his staff for all their help. I'll forever be grateful to Dr. Bragg.
