I've been seeing Dr. Balthrop for a year now. He is a really good doctor. He listens to what a person says and asks. His answers are direct and to you, not at you. He gives all the information on any procedure that you are concerned with, all the options available, doesn't try to direct you, but lets a person make up their own mind on any of the available options and if you desire, say no. Be extremely hard to find a better doctor than Dr. John Balthrop.

My appointment was at 9;30 but did not get in until after 11;30. Also can not take a anti-inflammatory drug because I have Diverticulitis and have a 30% blockage in my heart and take a aspirin daily. Also take high blood pressure medication.

Outpatient hip replacement. Everything went like clockwork! Almost no pain at all. The staff was first rate and extremely attentive. My assigned nurse was with me every step of the way and even called me this morning to check up on me. The entire experience was wonderful! I recommend Bluegrass Orthopedic, Dr. Balthrop and their staff without reservation!!

After having knee replacement surgery, my life is so much better. Dr Balthrop is a wonderful surgeon. Gives you all the info you need to make an informed decision. I will be having the other knee done in April, and know he will do an awesome job this time as well. Will not be going to anyone else.

Because of the damage to my meniscus Dr B ended up removing 10% of the meniscus during an orthoscopic procedure. I have experienced no pain or even discomfort during my recovery. I expect the removal of my 2 staples to be the most pain I will endure from this entire process.

I saw Dr.Balthrop for a knee injection. I have had two previous knee injections elsewhere that were horribly painful !!!! So I was dreading today so bad . I Literally never felt a thing . It was no pain at all. He is very professional and caring yet very down to earth. I've been to his office twice and will continue as needed.

I'm a RN who has been driving 23 years, 5 days/week doing home health. My right knee was a painful mess. I would wrap my knee in warm towels to be able to sleep at night. Pain lived with me. I was referred to Dr. Balthrop and he LISTENED to me. He ask me about MY concerns and MY fears. Remember I have taken care of some awful messy knee surgeries, eg. MRSA, blood clots. My fear was blood clots esp. since 3 ladies in my community have died from clots after knee surgery. Dr. Balthrop is the best!
