Patient Reviews (12)
in Dayton, OH |
This doctor was rude and condescending. We felt like we were being interrogated and talked down to. He seemed to be in a hurry and we felt rushed and flustered trying to explain our situation to him. Very uncomfortable meeting. After reading the reviews after our appointment, we had experienced some of the same behavior as the other negative comments. Not sure what his problem is, but maybe he needs a vacation. His NP Shannon on the other hand was extremely nice.

Dr Vandersluis is very professional, knowledgeable and easy to understand when he explains procedures and medications. I would strongly recommend him. The office has a pleasant atmosphere, and I was quickly roomed and seen.
in Waynesville, OH |
I have a particularly difficult diagnosis. Most Dr's would get their nose out of joint at the idea of asking for a second opinion, Dr. Vandersluis actually suggested it. It wasn't like he was trying to pass me off either. He wanted to know how far I wanted to pursue this. He gave me all my options in a clear, straightforward and kind manner. I found his staff extremely competent and the facility efficient.
Dayton, OH |
I read all of the reviews about Dr. Vandersluis before I became a patient. If I had believed everything I read and chose someone else, it would have been a missed opportunity. The entire office was friendly. He came in the exam room, had reviewed my case ahead of time, asked very direct questions and was able to give excellent feedback and suggestions. I never felt uncomfortable or rushed. He gave excellent follow-up and answered all of my questions.
in Dayton, OH |
He really seemed to care, and took the time to listen intently.
I've been to this neurologist 5 times have seen Dr. Vandersluis a total of 5 minutes. I've dealt with only his PA. Office staff act as if they don't want to be there and barely acknowledge you. In the 5 visits I've been I've had a total wait time of 6 hours and a cancelation day of an appointment I waited 3 weeks to get. Even after getting in I've waited typically another 20 to 45 minutes to see the PA in the exam room. To say the least I wouldn't recommend going here to anyone.
in Dayton, OH |
Absolutely insulting and gave me the sense he did not believe my symptoms and misunderstood the treatment of my other health conditions by other specialists. I would never recommend a physician like this to anyone. I scheduled an appointment elsewhere and have never returned.
in Dayton OH |
He was very good about listening to my entire case. I never felt rushed and he was very good at explaining everything.
Dayton, OH |
He made me feel very uncomfortable in the office and was making joke about my personal life which I found very rude and degrading. I would not recommend him to anyone. He is very rude, and is to touchy feely with his patients. His bedside manner is awful, and he will not spend anytime listening to what you have to say he will cut you off in the middle of the sentence. If it would let me give him zero stars I would.
in Dayton, OH |
Four visits, never saw doctor. Staff cited too busy

Care of my Parkinson very good
in Dayton, OH |
I can not stress enough how unpleasant this Dr. Vandersluis is, the man is RUDE. Not a dr for the patient. Very poor bedside manner. Office staff is unhelpful in any way they can be. He tells you to get tests and treatment elsewhere and than never sends referrals. Does not call with results of any test, and staff acts as though you are a bother when you call.. I wouldn't recommend this doctor or office to my worst enemy.
