Dr. Silverfield has extensive experience in Rheumatology as a physician and research investigator in clinical trials involving patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Osteoporosis, Fibromyalgia, Ankylosing Spondylitis and Osteoarthritis. He has authored numerous publications, including articles in The Journal of Rheumatology and The American Journal. He has also been awarded "Leader of the Year" by The Arthritis Foundation
Joel C. Silverfield, MD is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. At the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, he earned his Doctor of Medicine, and served an Internal Medicine Internship and Residency. He completed a Rheumatology Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Dr. Silverfield is a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, Florida Medical Association, and Florida Society of Rheumatology. He has served on the Boards of the Arthritis Foundation, the Hillsborough County Medical Association, and the BayCare Malpractice Advisory Board.
