      Why Does Experience Matter?

Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.

Dr. Eisenberg is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology as well as Internal Medicine. He obtained his medical education in St. Louis, Missouri where he graduated Cum Laude from St. Louis University School of Medicine in 1979. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine in 1982. He then began his cardiology training at Washington University. In 1985 he passed his board examination in cardiovascular diseases. His education furthered in 1990 when he took a sabbatical at Beaumont Hospital in Detroit where he worked with the internationally known interventional cardiologist Dr. William O Neill. Dr. Eisenberg was the first cardiologist to perform balloon angioplasty and to place an intra-coronary stent in patients at Sparrow Hospital. In 1999 he became board certified in Interventional Cardiology. Dr. Eisenberg is married and has three young-adult children. His mother, Marcia, a registered nurse, encouraged his interest in medicine at an early age. His father died when he was 10 years old but continues to be a great influence in his life today.
