This surgery made such a difference in my life!
From start to finish Dr. Bauman and all staff were very professional, accomodating and returned phone calls and answered questions in a very timely manner. This includes not only Dr. Bauman but all of his staff at office I visited, his scheduling staff, PA, hospital staff, visiting nurses and the accompanying surgeon. Pain after surgery was surprisingly minimal although it may be different on an individual basis. I was so worried about the proceedure due to conflicting reports of others who have had back surgery or knew someone who has. In my initial visit with Dr. Bauman I asked "do you think you can help me with my pain" in which he replied " yes, I believe so" and assured me that, although each case is different, you should recover quite well. I was walking with assistance the day after surgery and on my own two days after surgery. It has been just over 3 months since surgery and I am amazed of how quickly I am feeling back to normal except pain free. Consider pre-op phys therapy.

I had an excellent experience with the fusion Dr. Bauman performed on me. I was very well prepared by the appointments with Dr and his support staff. Once the procedure was performed and I was home the next day, I couldn’t believe how well it went. And now 3 months later, I sometimes forget just how extensive my surgery was and how well my recovery has gone. Thank you Dr Bauman and his entire team!

Hearing you need spinal cord surgery is never easy news to give someone. But Dr. Bauman made me feel comfortable, even though I asked to check and see if one area could be inspected and not just fused. It became the focus to check upon all those on my team. I was very relaxed going into this surgery because I felt I had been heard. And he reassured me he was confident in this procedure. Nothing meant more than a flower and blanket waiting for my in my room after the surgery . It’s the small things but he definitely changed and improved my quality of life

Dr. Bauman is a fantastic doctor. He actually performed the diagnostic visit and evaluated my issue, and also brought other issues to my attention. His surgical procedure was excellent. I can't even begin to tell you the quality of life improvements he gave me, unreal! He made himself available to me for all my questions, multiple visits. I highly recommend you see him before committing to any other neurosurgeon. A+++ (yes 3 pluses)

He is extremely knowledgeable, takes the time to explain things well and must be a very talented surgeon judging from the outcome I have heard.. I believe he is very much in demand because of his excellent reputation; for that reason it’s not always possible to speak with him the same day I call. His nursing staff is very responsive however.

Dr. Bauman is an excellent neurosurgeon. I was having severe leg pains and difficulty ambulating. Due to this pain, I had to use a wheel chair. Dr, Bauman reviewed my MRI film with me present and he found a synovial cyst that was pressing on my spinal nerves. He also found I have an extra vertebra .I am 66 years old and had many MRI's and Chest x-rays.No one ever picked up the extra vertebra. Also, it was not noted on the MRI about the synovial cyst.If Dr. Bauman didn't find the cyst, I don't know what would have happened. I had a laminectomy .Dr. removed the cyst, patched some nerves and removed bone spurs. I am ambulating without any devices and very grateful I went to Dr, Bauman. Not only is he knowledgeable, he has compassion and you feel safe in his care.

Dr. Bauman is excellent. I had a herniated disc at L4 L5 that was causing excruciating sciatic nerve pain. I was unable to sleep for more than an hour or two before waking up in pain. For 6 months, I had almost constant burning, shooting pain down my right leg and numbness in my right foot. I tried physical therapy and steroid injections, nothing relieved the pain until the surgery. I am no longer in pain, well on my way to a full recovery and soon back to my regular activities. Thank you Dr. Bauman for giving me my life back!

I consider myself very lucky to have found Dr. Bauman when it was clear I needed significant cervical surgery. He is meticulous, wise, and cares about his patient (that's me). Pre-op, during op, and post-op, I knew I was in capable hands...and that's important when someone is cutting into your spine. I highly recommend him. And, his office staff is excellent and responsive. Your in EXCELLENT hands with Dr. Bauman!

I didn't get past the receptionist to schedule an appointment. She was rude, kept interrupting and hung up while i was in mid sentence. My husband was referred by his primary care for a herniated disk. The office told his pcp that Dr Bauman was going to be away the next 2 weeks. My husband was in excruciating pain, so I called myself to make sure there would be a physician there to see him because Dr Bauman wouldn't. I was told it was up to the dr. not me, when my husband would be seen.
