Care Philosophy

I believe in personalized, in depth problem analysis. In involving the patient and his family in the decision making problem. In assessing personal behavior that influences the disease and the well being. In spending time to understand each person, each problem and the best alternatives that can be offered. I share the patients' concerns about the sweeping changes that involve health care today. Thus, I consider myself before anything else, the patients' friend and advocate.

I spoke with Dr. Martinez on a Tuesday night. He had me scheduled for an ultrasound the next day at 4:00. He even had his wonderful scheduler meet me at the reception desk when I arrived. I waited maybe five minutes before being called in for the ultrasound. I was then scheduled to meet with Dr. Martinez the next day (Thursday) at 11:45am. Didn't wait more than 10 minutes. He gave me the good news and the bad news. He was kind, gracious and patient. Dr. Martinez and his staff are first class.

Very knowledgeable, very compassionate, took time to explain his findings, what he wanted to do, and did not waste time getting started. Placed three stents in the L.A.D. artery and saved my life. I feel he is an extremely good doctor and a great man . THANK YOU.
Amarillo, TX |
Dr Martinez has been entrusted to my family members' needs for many years, unfortunately we have not actually seen the physician in several visits. The last 4 visits have been countless waiting rooms and inefficiency. Waited over 2 hours, paid the copay and was not even seen or taken out of the waiting room. We had to scramble to find an MD to give cardiac clearance before a needed surgery because Dr. Martinez cancelled our appointment the week before a scheduled procedure. We will not be back.

Love My Dr. Martinez-Arraras. Very attentive. Takes time, answers questions, good humored and kind. Very strict about what to do and what is right. Recommend!!
Amarillo |
Dr Martinez is a great doctor however his staff is rude and does not return phone calls, scheduling is a nightmare and you had better be prepared to wait no less than 1 to 2 hours in the waiting room before you see him.
Dr Martinez is a great Dr but I feel like his staff is terrible. They're not friendly at all. In fact they're rude. Don't return calls promptly. Sometimes don't return calls at all. I feel like they change appointments a lot and/or schedule appointments too far off after an important procedure.

I recommend Dr. Martinez to anyone who has heart problems. He has been the best doctor to me for the last 17 years. I owe my life to him. Thanks Dr. Martinez.
