Dr. Bermudez has gone above and beyond to help treat my daughter. He has been her psychiatrist since she was discharged from inpatient care in Sept of 2017. He listens to myself and my daughters input. He is clear and to the point and doesn’t sugar coat things. Medication isn’t a cure all and not every medication works the same for every child. He has worked us in to a full schedule, had his nurse call us after hours, and has been instrumental in helping us to find the correct therapy for her.

My son has been seen by Dr. Bermudez for the last 7 months for his temper problem and ADHD. I was so against medication till he explained what the benefits of medication can be. He started my son on medication on the 3rd visit just becvause we wanted to go over a few options that wouldn't have so much side effects. My child was such a quiet kid but now he has open up to Dr. Bermudez which has been such a huge accomplishement for me. He has been well behaved and his grades have improved so much.

My 9yr olds last visit made me want to cry and box his ears all at the same time. My biggest fear is that if my child we're to go untreated, he'd turn out like this Doctor! It sounds harsh but his behavior and lack of social and communication skills is disappointing. There are some things that I feel would improve our interactions so I'll list them: 1. Listen without interrupting 2. Offer options and/or explain why there isn't another option. 3. Attempt to understand my child/family

My kid told me that Joaquin obsessively checked his texts after I stepped out, & WHILE my child was crying. Little to no effort? Could not care any less? Then, Joaquin prescribed a drug which gave my child hallucinations - horror show! Called this office right away after the situation was under control. Nurse was nice enough, never got a call from Joaquin himself. Message he gave the nurse was: "it wasn't the [drug]." Ha! Dangerous. Not for families who know what intelligent doctoring looks like

I went to this office for well over a year and was fine. There were times where he and I had disagreements but not often. HIS STAFF, they are ABSOLUTELY horrible. They don't do what they are to do. I actually got kicked out from this office due to the issues that I had with this office and their incompetent staff.

His slovenly appearance, true indicator of his disrespect/don't care attitude for his patients and for the field of psychiatry. Abysmally trained, not clever enough to know it. Unlikeable, dismissive, lacks social savvy of any good psychiatrist. Dogs (also poorly trained) couldn't distract from it. Spitballed diagnosis w/in 1st 20 mins of 35 min 1st visit? Singular focus on writing your kid a Rx. Doesn't understand how psychotropics work. Only a matter of time before this rube loses his license.

Dr. Bermudez was instrumental in helping get my son properly diagnosed with high functioning Autism. He appropriately treated my son with meds (does not over prescribe and explains things), and spoke with us both as real people. He is genuinely invested in his patients and their well being. I wish he practiced closer to our home.

This is a terrible doctor. Very cold and arrogant. Sat down for our visit and the first words out of his mouth were "so, what kind of meds are we gonna try today?". Now I work in the field, and there is no way that is an ethical or empathetic way to treat a patient, let alone a child patient. When I questioned him, which I did, he was extremely offended and told me that "he prescribes medicine, that is what he does, and this is his practice, so he does what he wants". Worst. Doctor. Ever.

Dr. Bermudez has changed our lives and the life of our son ten fold. He’s personable and doesn’t act like he’s a higher class citizen as common with many doctors. He’s been our son’s psychiatrist for the past 5 years and we wouldn’t consider anybody else. His Glendale location is great! We can’t even finish signing in before we’re called back.

Dr. Bermudez is an egomaniac that needs to learn it is the right of a parent to challenge him, if they don't agree or understand something. I do not feel he cares about the patient and sees them only as a dollar sign. Perhaps he should take his experience and go back to school to teach. "Those who cannot do; TEACH!"

Dr. Bermudez diagnosed my 3 year old son with Autism and prescribed him ADHD medication that is not recommended for children younger than 6 years of age. This certain medication has dangerous effects. I do not understand how a doctor that at the first and only visit diagnoses a toddler with Autism and gives them medication.
