This content was provided by Dr. Haney-Tilton "Dr. Jo-Ann Haney-Tilton decided to become a doctor because she enjoys caring for others. She finds that her specialty of ophthalmology can make a real impact in people's lives. A graduate of the Medical College of Pennsylvania, Dr. Haney-Tilton specializes in treating cataracts, glaucoma, problems with the cornea, and other diseases and conditions that affect the eye. One of Dr. Haney-Tilton's favorite aspects of being an ophthalmologist is performing surgery, "I find the surgical procedures very interesting," she explains. "Eye surgery is very sophisticated these days, and the new technologies we have access to allow us to help our patients in many ways." Dr. Haney-Tilton formerly practiced at Tufts New England Eye Center, at both the Leominster(Director) and Wellesley campuses. She also had her own private at the Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick, Massachusetts. This private practice merged with Tufts New England Eye Center/Framingham in 2015. She also practiced for 10 years at Reliant Medical Group in Worcester. Recently, she accepted a position at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, though still continues to see patients in Framingham. She is on the clinical faculty of Tufts University School of Medicine and Harvard Medical School. No matter where she has worked, Dr. Haney-Tilton has enjoyed building strong relationships with her patients, "Getting to know my patients and being hands-on is one of my favorite aspects of being a doctor. I'm very blessed to have this career and try never to take the privilege for granted" When she is not working, Dr. Haney-Tilton enjoys spending time with her two sons, learning guitar, and cycling - even participating in the 2017 Pan Mass Challenge."
