Care Philosophy

As a cardiologist and patient advocate, I've met many people who felt a disconnect between their expectations and the care provided by their physicians.  Some feel doctors don't listen to them, others are not getting the medical explanations they deserve. I've found this divide often breaks the trust needed to form the foundation of a strong healthcare partnership.

In my practice, cardiac disease is addressed with an evidence-based approach keeping your needs and expectations in mind. Together, we will work to form a tailored diagnostic and treatment plan using the latest innovation and technology available.

My thought process along the way with clearly outlined goals, risks, and alternative options will be explained. I will strive to always treat you with respect while empowering you to transform your health.

Dr. Popat is an excellent doctor with a wonderful staff. They provide the best care to patients in the area. Besides having a strong knowledge of his speciality, he is a decent and kind man with excellent bedside manners. He never makes me feel rushed, but rather takes his time at each appointment and always makes me feel like a part of his family. He has been my doctor for many years and the only cardiologist I will ever go to.

I met Dr. Pop when I visited the James A. Haley emergency room for care. He is a great guy and fabulous doctor. He was through and attentive. I'm greatful to have had him as my attending physician. I highly recommend him to anyone in search of a cardiologist who will be attentive to their needs, kind, a great listener and thorough.

Dr. Popat says...

Cardiac disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States. My practice focuses on an evidence-based-approach in the treatment of many heart conditions often in conjunction with an interdisciplinary group of experts. My office will also work to communicate efficiently with all members of your healthcare team.

Dr. Popat says...

Whenever possible, all of my cardiac procedures are performed in a "radial first" minimally invasive approach. This technique, done through the wrist, can be used to make the diagnosis of coronary atherosclerosis by angiography, valve disease, or detect problems within the lungs.  The treatment of coronary arteries and cardiac valve disease are performed in a state of the art catheterization laboratory utilizing the latest technology and innovation available.
