It's incredibly unfortunate that this man is the only dysautonomia specialist in Tucson. He has a huge ego because he trained at the Mayo clinic in Phoenix (of which he will constantly remind you) and acts like his tests are better than the same tests administered by other cardiologists. For example, he made me retake a tilt table test performed by another cardiologist in Tucson that was positive. When it was over, he told me he didn't think my issue was dysautonomia even though my heart rate went up to 150 bpm and I had convulsive syncope. His rationale? My heart rate didn't stay elevated long enough for his liking. I couldn't find anything of a quantitative temporal nature when I've combed the diagnostic literature. I also have gastroparesis, a common condition with dysautonomia. The positive test results were given to him at the first appointment. This man appears to make medical diagnosis based on his opinion, not evidence. He had no interest in my medical history. Beware.

I think if the Practice is the one pushing the apts and not Dr winter they are over booked. I was recently Diagnosed with pots and I understand Dr winter is a busy man but when he told me I had less than 10 min before he walked out. He always says he'll be right back and he is pretty all over the place. I will be looking for another doctor because like I said I was newly diagnosed and had questions. I have a lot of doctors and seen a lot but his bedside is not great. wouldn't recommend long term

Why anyone would use Dr. Winters is beyond me. His customer service skills are a 0. Once you say Yes to the operation and he receives his money, you are nothing. He could care less about you as a patient and I would really take this to heart before using him when there are so many competent doctors who can do the same procedure and care about you before, during and after surgery. Dr. Winters left me high and dry. The other negative reviews are TRUE. You were warned. Don't say Yes.

I wouldn't recommend Dr. Winter. He is one of those Doctors that spends very little time with patients. I took my Mom to see him twice. He never examined my Mom. Didn't want to answer questions. He was in and out within a couple of minutes. Both visits I had to chase him down and ask questions. He was rude and didn't want to be bothered. The second visit I introduced some medical experiences I had. He was not interested and walked away. BTW, he didn't even know what IPMN was. REALLY?

Dr Winter left the impression with me that his time was far too valuable to spend with his patient...me. He was in the room with me at most 10 minutes, and all he could say was that "you're all right, you're all right". I would have appreciated him spending a few minutes explaining to me the information derived from wearing a heart rate monitor for 48 hours, the assessment from the echocardiogram and possibility of blood clots, and even the EKG history, or probability of a pace maker. But no.

Dr. Winter did a great job with my husband. My issue is with his staff. We never received our monitoring device. At our 1st follow-up visit, we were informed it would be mailed to us within 2 weeks. We called after 2-3 weeks and were then told it would take up to 8 weeks! The truth of the matter is it was not even ordered until a week after that call! I called again; I was told it was back ordered, and there was nothing THEY could do! I CALLED A ST. JUDE REP AND GOT ONE WITHIN A FEW DAYS!
