Dr. Bell's bio

This content was provided by Dr. Bell "Born in Atlanta, GA. Grew up in East Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Mississippi, and the Panhandle of Florida (Dad had lots of transfers). Met my wonderful wife, Wendy, in Sunday School (while we were at the University of Florida for our undergraduate studies). Have 6 rabbits & 3 cats. Was a Summer Missionary with Campus Crusade for Christ in Paris, France at La Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris. First visit to Montana was in ~1998, and God led us here to practice in 2001, as soon as my glaucoma fellowship (with M. Bruce Shields, M.D. & George Shafranov, M.D.) was completed at Yale. Once we arrived in Montana, Wendy and I have never looked back! We love Montana and are proud to have been Montanans now for over 16 years. We take pride in the fact that our clientele, who come from Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, and elsewhere, are FABULOUS people - not to mention, great patients (and friends)! I want to know all about my patients & their families, even before I get acquainted with their eyes, as I treat the whole patient. My patients are not just a number or $$$ to me - they are my ministry! And I feel very privileged that they minister back to me as well."

Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Dr. Bell "Keeping your sight beautiful, and preventing or treating anything that may pose a damage to it- that is what we are about.  AND we look at the WHOLE you, not just your eyes.  We commit to you our strongest efforts to take care of yourself and your sight problems just as if you were our closest family member.  We provide expert, professional care and answers regarding your particular condition, and how best to treat it: whether with glasses, medically, with laser or surgical care, or even teaming with your other doctors in Montana and elsewhere to enlist any further diagnostic work-up and/or treatment that is needed to give you the best care possible.  Because we spend significant time with each patient & their family managing their difficult eye disease, we cannot guarantee that you will not have to wait some times.  But know if you were the one needing it, we would not rush on ahead."
