Children are not little adults. As a pediatric orthopedist I have a unique perspective on treating children. Not only do I need to treat the child at that particular moment, I also have to think about how my interventions will affect them as adults. This idea is unique in the specialty of orthopedics. I treat every child as an individual. I try to obtain information from the parents and also from the child, no matter how young. As a mother of two young girls, I understand both the needs of the child and of the parents. The doctors office can be a scary place for kids. I try to provide as comfortable environment as I can for them.
