Jeffrey Sicat, MD FACE is the founder and medical director of Virginia Weight and Wellness, in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Sicat received his undergraduate degree from Williams College in Massachusetts and his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine where he remained to complete his Internal Medicine residency and then subspecialty fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism. He is dual board certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism and Obesity Medicine. Dr. Sicat is a fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) and is on the Board of Trustees of the Obesity Medicine Association (OMA) - the national society of healthcare providers specializing in obesity medicine. Dr. Sicat has widely presented at numerous national, state, and local medical conferences including the American Society of Bariatric Physicians / Obesity Medicine Association, the nation's leading conference for the advancement of clinical obesity. For the last several years, he has served as a principle physician instructor at the Obesity Medicine Association American Board of Obesity Medicine Board Review course teaching health care practitioners about brain, gut, and adipocyte hormones in energy regulation as well as microbiome, sleep, body fat distribution, and metabolic co morbidities of obesity. Dr. Sicat recently authored the chapter, "Physical Manifestations of Obesity" in the inaugural textbook of Bariatric Endocrinology published by Springer Publishing Company. He has an active practice in obesity medicine and endocrine-related disorders. He is a passionate clinician and educator.
