This content was provided by Dr. Kornitzer "Dr. Jeffrey Kornitzer joined the Department of Neurology and the Rutgers Neurological Institute of New Jersey at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in July 2016. Dr. Kornitzer obtained his Bachelor's degree in Biology at The College of New Jersey as part of a highly competitive 7-year Bachelors/MD program. He completed his medical degree at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School. He stayed on to complete a residency in Pediatrics at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Kornitzer then completed a fellowship in Child Neurology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. While in fellowship, Dr. Kornitzer was awarded the prestigious Golden Apple award in teaching. He was also selected for induction into the esteemed Arnold P. Gold Foundation. Dr. Kornitzer sees children and young adults with a variety of neurological conditions. He specializes in neurodevelopmental conditions (such as autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and Rett Syndrome) and concussions. His emphasis is on using the most recently available modalities to treat the child as a whole. Currently, Dr. Kornitzer is the co-director of the NJ Rett Syndrome Center and director of our ADHD Clinic. He also serves as a medical advisor to the Newark Public Schools for the management of concussions. In addition, Dr. Kornitzer is the clinical liaison for our Neurogenetics program, which allows for state-of-the-art genetic testing of thousands of neurologic conditions. "
