Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Dr. Hertz "Good patient care begins with the patient. Listening to my patients and understanding their expectations provides the basis for a solid physician-patient relationship. When a patient presents to my office, he or she is often unclear as to what the significance of the vascular problem is and what treatment options are available. As a board certified vascular surgeon with endovascular training, I am able to provide a wide array of treatment options for the numerous vascular conditions and problems that exist. This allows me to tailor the treatment to each patient on an individual basis. Some problems are better managed with a minimally invasive percutaneous approach, while others are better managed with an open approach. Dedicating my attention to each patient for as long as is necessary to ensure a full understanding of the problem and treatment plan is an essential component of my approach to patient care. My training and practice include treatment for a large number of vascular conditions. These include: arterial blockages resulting in leg pain or more advanced disease, carotid artery blockages, aortic aneurysms, hemodialysis access for the dialysis patient, and varicose vein treatment."
