Dr Abildgaard takes the time to listen and explain when I have questions. Not many physicians seem to do that any more. So glad I can now see him at an Orthoarizona location close to my house.

Dr Abildgaard asked a lot of questions to try to get to the root cause of my shoulder issue. I was very impressed with his knowledge and thoroughness. He did rule out shoulder replacement which was quite a relief.

Awesome doc, isn’t my first rodeo with an ortho but hands down the best I’ve had. He took the time to answer all my questions and explain in depth on things I wanted more info on. Felt very comfortable going into surgery with him and would do it again- but hoping I won’t have to haha

Complete and thorough professional. Both he and his assistant and the entire staff are very thorough and informative. The surgery was exactly the way he said it would be in the preop appointment, and then in the postop appointment he thoroughly explained what he did and why he did it with pictures of everything and was very helpful in my path with my rehabilitation PT. My first appointment with my PT, she explained she had spoken to the doctor that morning and they both came up with a plan that would benefit my recovery. Amazing doctor and staff.

As an educated specialist I give you 5 stars. Bedside manner not so much. Your patients come to you for knowledge and answers. A teachable moment is to try to understand the patient can only describe from their point of view... It Hurts Here! The why or how is why I came to you.

Unfortunately my experience with Dr. Abildgaard for this visit was horrible. He spoke too fast, didn’t pause and check for understanding. In addition, he gave me choices and when I picked amongst what he gave me, he proceeded to tell me that he wouldn’t recommend that and that I was putting him in an ethical dilemma. I was flabbergasted! I certainly don’t want to put anyone in an ethical dilemma. But I was trying to provide a decision based on the options he put before me. I had previously had a great experience with him last year. But this visit made me feel like I was in the twilight zone.
