About Me

I treat every patient as I would a member of my family. I am conservative and don't recommend surgery unless a patient really needs it. However, my background with fellowships in both skull base and cerebrovascular surgery, as well as, complex spine ...

Dr Neil did a L4-S1 Fusion with cages on 10/11/18. He is amazing, surgery went perfect and I have zero nerve or surgical pain. Healing time was very fast. Great bedside manners and very attentive. Highly recommend him for any fusion surgery! He gave me a new life.

I suffered with debilitating back pain for many years, caused by scoliosis and degenerative disk disease, with progressively bending forward. My pain level was unbearable! I had many therapies & spinal cord stimulator. I was then referred to Dr. Neal who agreed to take me as a pt and was confident that he could perform the surgery I needed. Dr. Neal performed an 8.5 hr surgery. I am pain free & can stand straight! I highly recommend Dr Neal, Tina PA, and his staff at MIdwest Neuroscience Inst.!!

I managed to secure an urgent appointment with Dr. Neil. I cannot say enough good things about him. His office staff was amazing. He put me at ease and assured me he could help me. Within weeks I had my surgery and raised my legs without pain for the first time in years. He gave me my life back. My entire experience with Dr. Neil has been inspiring. He is pleasant, encouraging and totally involved in patient care. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I had severe back pain for several years and avoided surgery because I was fearful of a bad outcome. On my initial evaluation, Dr Neil told me that I would be in a wheelchair without surgery. When forced into doing something, I was so blessed to have found a skilled, compassionate doctor Following a 6 hour surgery and a triple vertebral fusion, I am happy to say I am doing well. I can't imagine where I would be without him.

My experience with doctor Neil was excellent. Although he was not able to help my specific condition, he was very nice and professional. Dr. Neil's PA (i think that's the title) is Tina and she was also exceptional. The office staff was welcoming and I also appreciated the waiting room (it was dimly lit, clean, comfortable and provided free refreshments/snacks).

Dr. Neil carefully explained the options for my future treatment. He is very conservative on recommending surgery; he suggested other treatment modalities first before resorting to surgery. He took the time that my wife and I appreciated; he was receptive and listened to our questions.. It is sometimes difficult to get into see him since he maintains multiple offices and has days devoted to surgery.

My condition required laminectomy and discectomy. Dr. Neil and the support at Research Neuroscience Institute LLC could not have served me better. Customer service was top shelf. Expectations established pre-op have borne out to be spot on. I would highly recommend Dr. Neil and RNI to my family and friends. They made a very uncomfortable and highly anxious situation manageable and relatively easy to get through. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Very impressed with Dr. Neil. He was not eager to jump into doing surgery on my back and offered options. He is still following for more information regarding my back.

After years of pain & consulting with doctors & surgeons that said they could not help me, I found Dr. Jayson Neil & PA Tina Carlson. They listened & asked questions. They did tests. They sent me out for more tests until they knew what was causing the pain & what they could do to fix it. During the pre-op visits, Dr. Neil talked to me in plain english answering all my questions. Tina set up & guided me through the outside tests, following up on each one by phone. I can stand & walk again.

Dr. Neil did a great job of listening to me in the pre-operative stages and helped me understand the options available to me and how he could help me with my back pain. After the surgery, he has also done a great job in my follow up visits. I appreciate the way he talks with me and lets me ask questions.

When my wife was diagnosed with 2 brain aneurysm's we had no idea what to expect. Both of us were scared to death. From the initial visit to the surgery to the follow up visit Dr. Neil was absolutely the very best. He took the time to explain the procedure he recommended and was very thorough in his explanation. We would highly recommend Dr. Neil and his staff.

I would like to thank Dr. Neil and his entire staff especially Tina for giving me my life back. Had surgery on a herniated disc in upper back on 5/12/16. Was in immense pain for months. When I woke up in recovery room all pain from disc was gone! Will always remember what Dr. Neil did to improve my quality of life. I would request Dr. Neil if I ever need back surgery again.
