He completed his psychiatric residency through the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 1993. His fourth year concentrated on Forensic Psychiatry through the Department of Justice, Federal Correctional Institution in Butner, North Carolina in 1994. Additionally, he has staff privileges at Aurora Medical Center – Grafton."
