Dr. Patel is very informative and personable. I've lost 50 pounds in 2 months with my weight loss surgery. I can reach my protein and fluid goals with ease. I don't feel sick or nauseous constantly. I'm doing great! His staff is awesome as well.

The office staff where not helpful they where more concern about collecting money. Instead of taking care of the patient. My son was told to go This dr because he has to have an emergency gallbladder removal. Since it was already infected. The staff refused to see him. Saying that if he did not have the money dr jay Patel would not see him. Then he would have to pay dr Patel another $600 to start the surgery. Seems from the way the office staff acted is the way the dr sees his patients. Is to him it’s not to save a human life. But to him patients are just money signs and helps him put more money in his pocket. If you want to see a cold hearted dr that does it for money. Then he is the right dr but if you want a dr who cares look somewhere else. This dr doesn’t care about human life. Just to make it clear my son was told to go to him for emergency surgery and was denied services by Ann at 1:25pm on 2/5/2020. So again if you want a se who cares do go to dr patel.

Dr. Patel did a "simple" Hiatal Hernia repair surgery on me in 2017. I was supposed to be in the hospital "just a few days". While awaiting surgery, his Chief Resident came to repeatedly tell me Dr. Patel is doing another case, and they would take me back "soon". After about FIVE hours they took me to surgery. Afterwards the Resident came to inform me that he was "very sorry to tell me that they cut my colon by mistake...but they fixed it". I was discharged to home. For the next three days I ran a fever, vomited and took pain meds. After calling his office I went to the ER and was admitted. The surgical residents repeatedly told me, "You DO NOT have an infection in your belly!" I asked them why did I have a cutdown in my neck and was on Vancomycin? I was discharged after five days. I got a copy of my medical records. The pathology report showed FECAL MATERIAL in the colon sample. YES I DID HAVE AN INFECTION IN MY BELLY!! THEY ALMOST KILLED ME!!

I was referred to Dr. Patel by two of my patients. I have been in the nursing field and patient referrals go a long way. I asked my own doctor (my employer) what he thought about me having surgery for weight loss and he thought that it was a good idea with my health issues and habits but he insisted that I look and listen for a few things during my initial visit. I did!! I reported back to my doctor and he responded that it sounded like a doctor that knew what he was doing. WELL, HE DOES!!!

Dr. Patel has a very good bedside manner with his patients. His staff is very professional if I have to leave a message they will call right back. Most times they are available. He gave my husband his life back. If you follow all of his instructions it doesn't take long for surgery. Apart from the wait for insurance approving the procedure and finding a doctor the process wasn't long and drawn out. This tool has helped my husband tremendously.
