Care Philosophy

The only way that patients can truly be involved in their care and the decisions surrounding it is to provide the tools and information each patient needs to understand what can sometimes be complex issues.  That is why we spend a great deal of time explaining both the condition we are dealing with as well as the rationale and treatments that can be effective in dealing with it.  This sometimes takes a bit more time but it is the best way to build the teamwork needed.

Im writing this for my grandmother but I was with her throughout her journey. She went to a different doctor and he didnt have any faith in her. Once we switched to Dr. Scalise he recommended surgery. After one year and a half she finally found someone that cared for her. I am very thankful for such a honest doctor. He did not see my grandma as a lost cause. After that horrible car accident in February 2015, she finally came back. Thank you so much!!

Dr. Scalise says...

My practice is devoted to the treatment of shoulder problems and more specifically problems related to shoulder arthritis.  It has been shown that quality outcomes are higher for patients when their physician specializes in one area and this has also been specifically shown in the area of shoulder replacement surgery.

Dr. Scalise says...

I focus on shoulder replacement surgery.  This can be a very rewarding experience for the right patient with bad shoulder arthritis.  Often a return of function, comfort and even independence occurs.  Virtually al of my practice is focused on this area of shoulder problems and shoulder replacement surgery.
