Dr. Lowe's bio
This content was provided by Dr. Lowe "I am a double fellowship trained Orthopaedic Trauma surgeon, which means I have dedicated my career to fixing broken bones. I have a particular interest in fractures that involve the joint surface, pelvis, or acetabulum. I also spend a significant time caring for fractures that did not heal after initial treatment or healed in a crooked position. Following medical school at the University of Miami I completed an orthopaedic residency program at the University of Missouri. I obtained a certificate an AO Trauma Fellow from the University of California at Davis followed by a fellowship in deformity correction using the Ilizarov method. Currently I am a faculty surgeon at Alabama's only American College of Surgeon's certified Level I trauma center (University of Alabama at Birmingham University Hospital). In addition to my faculty appointment at UAB I am a faculty educator for the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and the AO Foundation. Through these organizations I teach the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons basic and advance principles in fracture fixation."
