Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Dr. Garber "I am a very conservative Neurosurgeon.  In most cases regarding the spine, surgery should be the last option for a patient, unless there is frank motor weakness or failure of conservative management.

It is also for patients to know that no surgery for the spine will alleviate 100% of pain and or functional deficits.  Any surgeon that tells you that they can alleviate 100% of your pain with surgery is lying to you.  I attempt to set realistic goals for my patients prior to surgery."

Dr. Garber Says:
"

I am a very conservative neurosurgeon.  Surgery is almost always the last option for a patient, unless they have frank neurologic deficits, or have failed conservative management.

I like to consider myself a perfectionist, but I am certainly not perfect.  Sometimes people have the perception that I "rush" or "do not spend enough time with them."  This is certainly not my intention.  I am certainly happy to

I would recommend Dr. Garber to family and friends! He is a compassionate neurosurgeon who has a wonderful "bedside manner". I went to him for a second opinion and Mayo Clinic for a 3rd opinion who concurred with Dr. Garber's findings. Hence, I had him implant a pain stimulator as I was told no...more

I am a nurse for over 28 years. Over the years of lifting, pulling, straining, and carrying my stethoscope around my neck, why wouldn't I have cervical herniations and degenerative disc disease? After going through referrals I finally got to Dr Garber. Once I finally got my surgery done I was...more

Dr. Gerber is awful. I waited forever, he was rude and tried to push me into having surgery that I did not need. He is dangerous. Stay away at all costs. He sucks.
