This content was provided by Dr. Peterson "Jared Peterson, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist at Mountain View Eye Center in Layton, Utah. He completed his ophthalmology residency training at the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, which is perennially ranked among the top 3 ophthalmology programs in the country. Dr. Peterson received his Bachelor's Degree from Weber State University, graduating with High Honors. He continued his training at the Ohio State University College of Medicine where he graduated with honors and received multiple academic and research awards. While at Ohio State, he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society for his academic achievements. He was also nominated and selected by his peers for induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society for his humanistic and caring approach toward his patients. Dr. Peterson participated in various ophthalmological research projects and was awarded Alpha Omega Alpha and Fight For Sight national research fellowships. Dr. Peterson next completed his internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio where senior residents and staff presented him with the Best Transitional Resident of the Year award. Dr. Peterson was honored to receive his training in ophthalmology from Wills Eye Hospital, which is a high volume referral center where he was able to see many rare diagnoses and received extensive experience in managing ocular trauma. He was also exposed to the most recent technological advances in the field, and was one of the first resident physicians in the country to be trained in using the femtosecond laser in cataract surgery."
