I apologize for appearing blunt, but my training in genetics counseling emphasized the importance of accuracy.  Genetics studies reveal the non paternity rate in our country to be between 10-30%.  In Oklahoma, a study showed that 25% of pregnant women receiving genetic counseling identified the wrong man as the father of their unborn child when paternity testing was done.  So therefore precise wording is critical when I

Patient Comments (2)

Dr. Larson was the best doctor I've ever had. She was accurate, concerned, and dedicated herself daily to ensure I would have a healthy pregnancy. She saved my life and my babies life. Because of God and Dr. Larson, my husband and I are holding our precious daughter in our arms. Thank you so much...more

This inappropriate specialist insulted my sister continually referring to my sister's husband as "your baby daddy" even after being told to stop saying that ridiculous expression. Also after testing my sister for a disease, Dr Larson Davis said "results are negative IF HE IS THE FATHER." WHAT!?!...more

I apologize for bluntness but training in genetic counseling emphasizes accuracy. Statistically the non paternity rate is over 1 in 10. In an Oklahoma study of women in genetic counseling, 1 in 4 identified the wrong man as the father of their child when paternity testing was done. Thus precise wording is critical when counseling women who are carriers of recessive genetic diseases. Also now most mothers are not married to the father of their child; baby daddy is concise and non-judgmental.
