Dr. Wilkes' bio

This content was provided by Dr. Wilkes "I chose the field of medicine because I had a role model growing up- my physician. I felt that he made a difference in people's lives in the community that I lived in and he was very special to my family. I wanted to emulate him an make him proud that he had an influence in my life. I felt that medicine was an area that I could make a difference in people's lives. The ability to use my own hands and talents to help someone else is a very rewarding experience and I found that very compelling. What I enjoy about the practice now that I have been practicing for several years is the immediate gratification that I receive. When I can solve someone's acute medical problem such as a fracture or their chronic problems such as a worn out joint and I can make a significant difference in the quality of life, I find it very rewarding. I'm gratified from seeing the results that allow people to get back into the activities of their daily life without the need for continued ongoing medical care. Dr.Wilkes has varied personal interests. He is an outdoors-man who enjoys traveling, hunting and fishing. He enjoys spending time with his family. He enjoys teaching and mentoring students at the grade-school, high-school, college and medical-school levels. He also enjoys sharing his knowledge with anyone who shows an interest in orthopaedics and medicine."

Surgery for torn meniscus. The entire experience was very positive, from the MRI to the surgery and physician visits. Problem was taken care of, wonderful to be pain free in that area once again!
