He graduated summa cum laude from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. He earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City, and he completed his psychiatric residency at the University of Arizona Department of Psychiatry. While there, he served one year as chief resident. Since 2001, Dr. Van Doren has dedicated his career to practicing psychiatry. He has held various positions in outpatient clinics and inpatient hospitals."
