Dr Uyeki-an amazing Hematologist & Oncologist
I have been seeing Dr. Uyeki for my anemia for several years. I am now no longer anemic after being under his care and guidance. He is a brilliant doctor with a great bedside manner. He puts me at ease and I never feel rushed. Dr Uyeki is always there to listen. Dr. Uyeki has been treating my husband for a very aggressive cancer since Jan. 2015. His small cell carcinoma spread to his pancreas in 2017 but because of the stereotactic radiation that Dr Uyeki prescribed, it is gone and has not returned. Unbelievable!!!! Roy and I highly recommend Dr. James Uyeki. He holds a very special place in our hearts.

Excellant doctor
Dr. Uyeki is professional and very caring. He has been my doctor on discovery, treatment and during my remission for the last 7 years. He even helped me in a non cancer related issue by recognizing my immediate need for treatment on another condition. I have and will recommended him to others and will continue to do so. He is honest and straight forward and very trustworthy. He keeps his patients informed without instilling fear. Dependable and very intelligent. Trust him with my life.

Excellence defines all of his medical actions.
Immediately received, short wait and taken to room by “Lizzie”. The Dr. as is his nature, made the situation I was in clear and explained all possibilities. I am truly impressed with him and his surrounding staff, Jack

Dr. Uyeki
Dr. Uyeki is up on the technology and very helpful in making informed decisions. He was spending time after hours for me even before he was officially my dr. He reached out to md Anderson for confirmation on procedures. Saw me in hospital even after being on call the night before. The guy is just great!

Professional, compassionate listener
Getting a non hodgkins lymphoma diagnosis was scary - how did I get cancer? Dr. Uyeki put me at ease, assured me he would treat my cancer aggressively & kept me informed about my progress as I went through R-CHOP Chemo. I felt very comfortable asking questions at each visit. He took the time to listen and answer & if I didn't understand something, explain so I could understand. No question was silly, irrelevant, or too strange to answer. I truly felt he was MY oncologist - he cared. He & his staff answered my late night portal messager questions typically within 12 hours. And his staff... all professional, patient, friendly... and we laughed. That meant a lot. I figure laughing was probably moving the chemo along & killing more cancer. From blood draws to PET scans, ALL the staff were great. I hope I never need Dr. Uyeki, his staff, or TX oncology again, but if I do, I'll be with the BEST doctor at the best place for treatment . I give ********** because 5 weren't enough.

Unsure
I felt like I had to lead the appointment. In the beginning I was left with an RN to explain my treatment choices. Cancer is scary and confusing without some feeling of support. In later appointments I think he focused on specifics like lab results but left out a plan for unexpected lab values. Follow up set for 6 months later. If he understands my concerns I see no evidence of it.

Compassionate, Helpful, Brilliant
It is impossible to give Dr Uyeki a review worthy of him as a physician and man of stellar character. My health is a priority to him, all of it. So much kindness and gentle honesty during my appointments. He has held my hands in his, looked me in the eyes, and promised to care for me through all my challenges. For the last 10 years, I've been through some rough times with my health. Dr Uyeki has provided exceptional care, calmed my fears, collaborated with my other doctors, and been available when the symptoms came crashing down on top of me. I'm always at the thorough knowledge Dr Uyeki has of my total health. He gets the notes, test results, lab/imaging, etc from my other docs. Information combined with physician collaboration that gives him a total picture of me. I like that we talk about my health and make a plan together. If you want genuine caring, quality treatment, then Dr Uyeki's the right doc for you.

Knowledgeable, Caring, and Compassionate
He explains everything very well, however always lets us know if we think of another questions to notify him at the office via patient portal. Made me feel very comfortable and that he cared about me - I never felt rushed. My PCP referred Dr. Uyeki to me, she said "I would refer my own mother to Dr. Uyeki". That was very meaningful to me and she was right.

Outstanding doctor!
I have been a patient of Dr. Uyeki's for more than 10 years. I can't say enough about how much I trust his medical knowledge and skills at diagnosing and treating my health issues. Even though I know he has many other patients to see, I always feel like he has time for my questions and to explain test results and treatments. Very rare doctor!
