This guy is great!
Dr. Turek is one of the most respected medical professionals that you will ever meet. General family practice with a dermatology clinic right next door. My wife and kids both love him! Tidelands manages the place now, so I think some of the other reviews don’t realize that. Great family man; excellent Dr.

I called in to his office for a prescription refill. It’s been over a week now and the refill has not been called in to the pharmacy. I’ve gone through this with them many times. You have to practically beg them to call it in. I have even had a staff member hang up on me while I was trying to explain. I need my medications that the doctor has prescribed. I don’t understand their problem. It’s a staff problem not a doctor problem.

I called for an appointment on Thursday, got an appointment for 9:45 AM the following Monday. I was called in at 9:45 and seen by Dr. Turek at 10:00. I explained my problem and after an exam he told me what the problem was and what his plan of action was. I was very happy with Dr. Turek and his staff, and this not the first time I had appointments with him. When I need medical help I will continue to see him.... Jim H. in Garden City

Absolutely the worst experience of my life. I went to Dr. Turek for his quit smoking program. 4 hours after receiving the treatment I had terrible tremors and uncontrollable shaking. I ended up at grand strand hospital and MUSC. I have never had any kind of mental or anxiety issues in my life. This has changed my life for the bad in every way. I had to make my brother who lives in NJ my advocate for me because the next day I couldn’t put 2 words together. It took me about a Attila be able to put a sentence together. Between my husband and my brother they called the Dr. 7 times for help. He never returned any of our calls. Finally my brother contacted the CEO of Tidelands and he called my brother back. He refuses to take any responsibility for this even though there was nothing wrong until I had the shot. The only thing he finally offered was 50% of what I paid for the shot. I had this shot on January 31 I still have memory loss and continue to shake. Still under Dr’s care with a nuro

He is a waste of time and money. Find another doctor. The wait times are horrible and he will not spend longer than 5 minutes in the room with you. He doesn't listen to what you have to say.

My wife and I are extremely unhappy with this doctor and even the office. There are some very rude people that work there. Talking to our daughter behind our back while we were at a doctors visit as well as not writing a letter that was agreed upon and asked many times. Dr. Turek didn’t even come into a room to face my crying wife why he wouldn’t see our very sick three-year-old even when they scheduled her. We were told to go elsewhere. Entitled attitude and don’t bother me attitude. Sad

MedPlus in Garden City, is run by Dr. Turek. He is the worst Doctor I have encountered in recent memory. His office manager SHARON who he uses to clean up his dishonestness and laziness is a complete Buffoon and has no business calling patients back about anything at all. She is his stooge and only succeeds in making him look even worse. I asked for an apology from TUREK for his unethical and most likely illegal mistreatment of Me but he instead had SHARON call Me back. I smartly recorded ALL!

Will NOT recommend this dr. He hurried in, sat down and said you need to take this medicine for your uti...cipro. I reminded him it's on my DO NOT PRESCRIBE list. He asked me why can't you take it, and I re-explained what is already in my record. He seemed bothered that he had to look up my chart. I had to watch him leave the exam room quickly as I was asking a question. And he clearly rushed on out with my voice trailing off. One minute is all the time he had and I am NOT high maintence! BAD

Long wait for scheduled visit. Short visit. Went for SSD review per SSA. MD sent me to xray room (which had ancient looking film Xray). Xray tech has order for Xray of right foot, to determine likelyhood of neuropathy in right leg. Primary issue was in fact bad right (and left) knee. Nerves do not show on X-ray. Xray tech argued with me (former EMT w/ ER expereince) and finally under protest xrayed right knee only). His radiologist read film. No problem with right HIP. Yup....

Have been this doctor numerous times for myself and with my mom. Would not recommend. Wait times are long for minimal time with Doctor. Mom went to him for a stress test related to cancer surgery. After talking to three people in the office and waiting over an hour past appt time, found out the office does not do stress tests. And...never asked Mom about her cancer. Both Dr Turek and Dr Miller I compassionate.
