I've been a patient of Dr. Shaffer for about 7 years. Over the last 2 years, this office had scheduled me for an appointment which takes at least 3 months to get. Then they've cancelled the appointment the same day saying he has an emergency and they reschedule. This has gone on for 2 years. Now they've discharged me for missing appointments. I've tried to speak with the manager but no one will return my call. They've also been totally inaccurate with records. I highly recommend going elsewhere!

Fantastic doctor. I left the previous one star review. Stating about his lack of communication however after meeting him finally I see that he's just not a people person but is actually a great caring compassionate doctor. Thankful he's my mother's.

Horrible bedside manners. Mother is very ill the nurses have stated over and over the doctor needs to call me (her healthcare surrogate) to explain what's going on and give me test results. However he's had my mom for 6 days now and has not called ONCE no matter how many times I've called and begged for them to have him call me. I would never recommend him. Yes he's an amazing doctor (in theory) however not being able to communicate or be compassionate eliminates any awards any education

I met Dr. Shaffer under somewhat urgent conditions. I have recently moved to Florida from Minnesota and found myself in need of rotator cuff surgery. Before I could have the surgery I had to find a pulmonologist very quickly to ok me having surgery as I have COPD. He accommodated me very quickly. He went out of his way to make me feel very comfortable. I hate going to see lung Drs but this man changed all that in our first visit. He is a great Dr and I would recommend him highly to everyone.

I have had sleep apnea almost 20 years that has been diagnosed. I also have been a pulmonary patient for that same amount of time and have seen a few of the pulmonary specialists. It is with a great deal of respect that I highly recommend Dr. James Shaffer. Not only is he extremely thorough but a caring and knowledgeable physician who takes his time with each and every patient. Finally I get the care I need. Thank you Dr. Shaffer!

Dr. Shaffer was a godsend to me. I had been looking for someone to recommend a GI doctor to me and no one could. I was admitted to the hospital and could not have found a better doctor and I am recommending him to everyone I know.
