Of the first time meeting Dr. Ramser, his hearty handshake and upbeat personality won me over ! He was very easy to approach with my concerns and didn't "sugar coat" the truth ! I feel as if I've known him forever ! I did get a cortisone injection for my knee before leaving that first appointment. Truth be said, Dr. Ramser met resistance in finding a space for the needle. It DID hurt (despite numbing agent), but was IMMEDIATELY relieved, once he was able to find the space he needed. Dr. Ramser was just as sweet as could be, the entire time of the procedure. He knew the injection was not an easy one. X-rays indicate my knee is bone-on-bone and is going to need replaced. I have babied that knee since 2001 and it has run out of gracious time. I am excited to pass along that the injection has helped TREMENDOUSLY !! I hope it will help to buy me some time before I must proceed with surgery. I have the UTMOST confidence and trust in Dr. Ramser !

Dr. Ramser replaced both my knees. I had a very bad kneecap fracture as a teenager. I've had pain all my life. Dr. Ramser told me the surgery was unusual and he had to do extra things because of the old injury. I'm very happy. No more pain and my knee is stronger. I trust him and you can too.

It's been a year since Dr. Ramser replaced BOTH of my hips at the same time. I feel like he gave me my life back; my ability to keep working as a floor nurse on a very busy floor, the ability to hike, simple things like go shopping pain free, horseback riding, even have relations with my husband. I was in a lot of pain, taking a lot of pain meds to get through, and severely curtailing my activities. My cardiovascular health and stamina was quickly deteriorating, but I feel great now.

Today I am celebrating my second "Happy HipDay", thanks to the excellent diagniostic and surgical work done by Dr. James R. Ramser, Jr., MD. Each step I take without pain, each time I participate in deep water aqua aerobics or swim, each time I do a gentle yoga stretch, each time I get into or out of a car without pain, I feel a great debt of gratitude to him, his excellent staff, the fine people at Fauquier Hospital, and my patient and encouraging physical therapists. Thank you, Dr. Ramser!

Dr. James Ramser went above and beyond to answer my questions, deal personally with a problem with my insurance company before my surgery date and he did a wonderful job correcting a leg length problem I had prior to him performing a THR of my left hip. I expect a wonderful recovery and would highly recommend Dr. Ramser to anyone considering the anterior approach total hip replacement. All of his patients that I have met through this journey have expressed that they are totally satisfied too!
