As a medical doctor, Dr. Oakman views the eye in the context of the entire body and systemic pathologies. At Southern Eye, we view your health record as belonging to you. We will not share through electronic means or otherwise any of your records without your expressed consent. We believe in the sanctity of the doctor-patient relationship, clear communication, and that all medical decision making should be made strictly in that context. We treat patients and families one-at-a-time, never rushed, and with an eagerness to explain complicated disease processes to improve care. Our desire is to be the best comprehensive ophthalmology practice in the southeast. We seek to be valuable and edifying.
Dr. Oakman enjoys volunteering in short term medical missions with an emphasis on Christian evangelism. He also staffs Lion's Club clinics and serves on the deacon board of his church. He serves as the Vice President of Citizens Impact in Georgia and is a Gideon.
