Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Dr. Nunley "I have been practicing orthopaedic surgery at Duke for the last 38 years. My practice is currently limited to adults with foot and ankle conditions. I have special interests in athletic foot and ankle problems and ankle arthritis replacement surgery. My foot and ankle team has grown over the years and we have one of the largest team of experts in the United States dealing with these complex problems. I have a son who is an academic orthopaedic surgeon on the faculty at Washington University at St Louis and I have another son who is finishing residency in orthopaedic veterinary surgery. My wife and I hope he will return to the Carolinas."

Dr. Nunley is touted as the best. and clinically I believe he is very close to this but he has a horrible, smug attitude and disposition, making him terribly unpleasant to interact with. I am not a patient who seeks "friendships" with providers - far from it. I am a person who wishes to dialogue...more

I think Dr. Nunley and his colleagues are fine doctors. The problem is that they are all nearing retirement and apparently have made the decision to take on as many patients as possible for surgery.
