As a young man I went to art school, studying the traditional fine arts. When the age of personal computers arrived, I began working with computer graphics and multimedia. So my career has been a visual one. My vision is everything to what I do. Lately, I had been developing cataracts, which was interfering with my vision. After cataract surgery (lens replacement) by Dr McManus, I now have 20/20 vision in each eye, and my color sense is restored. (The last time I had 20/20 vision was over 40 years ago.) I have had zero problems in the recovery stage for each eye. I followed the preparation and recovery procedure advice exactly. Dr McManus and the Eye Institute staff have always been cordial, and always fully explained the procedures I was about to receive. It’s a process and it works! If you are having problems with your vision. I highly recommend Dr McManus and his staff to help you. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Perfect !!!
Dr. McManus has been treating me for near sightedness, cataracts and glaucoma for the past nine years. Over the past two weeks he performed surgery to treat the cataracts and glaucoma and I now have 20 / 20 vision after wearing glasses for the past sixty four years ! The procedures were flawless and painless and I couldn't be happier. Thank You Dr. M !!!

BRILLIANT DOCTOR!
Dr. James McManus is my hero! He has done so much to enrich my life in this past year. I have been seeing him for many years and 2022 was the year for my cataract surgeries. It was also a year that had been very difficult for me personally so I am especially happy to have eyes that are happy, healthy, and 20/20. I am again enjoying reading and enjoying the long walks I had missed to much. I am blessed to have him for my doctor. His staff is large and all are happy and patient and help me in any way they can which says a lot about the man in charge. I am choosy about my doctors because they help me live my best life. Dr. McManus, I can never thank you enough!

Cataract surgery
Dr. McManus performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes and inserted a stent in both eyes to relieve my glaucoma pressure. It was a painless procedure and the stents are working! No more eyedrops! He was sensitive to my concerns and fully answered all my questions. He even called to check on me the evening after the surgery! I highly recommend Dr. McManus as a competent, caring ophthalmologist and surgeon.

Exceptional care!
I’m a retired health care professional with 35+ years of experience and I highly recommend Dr.McManus and his staff at the Eye Institute! From day 1 through post op, everyone was informative, caring, sensitive and professional! I was blown away by Dr.McManus personally calling me both nights after surgery to check on me and to answer any questions I might have! I was told in the past that lens replacement could be difficult because I had radial keratotomy at age 40. Dr.McManus was very reassuring and I had a fantastic result. My recovery was so easy and my vision has returned to 20/20! This practice is very busy but well worth the wait. It is the only practice I will recommend to my family and friends!

Always in a rush and not thorough. Less concerned with effective treatment than saving time. That results in ineffective treatment and degraded eye health.

Nothing but positive things to say about Dr. McManus and his remarkable staff. He performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes in October and both of my husband's in November. We are are both very pleased with the results and the professionalism and courtesy shown to both of us. He even took the time to call us after each of the surgeries to check on how we were doing and to ask if we had any questions.
