Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Dr. Martens "My philosophy is to provide each patient with an individualized plan of care.  That means taking the time to listen and answer all your questions.  I will always choose non-operative treatment when appropriate.  If surgery is necessary, you can be sure you will understand the procedure, expected outcomes, and anticipated recovery first.  I look forward to the opportunity to take care of your Orthopaedic needs."

I am a 72 year old female with a triple fracture in my right ankle and also a fractured fibula which was surgically repaired eight weeks ago. I highly recommend this wonderful doctor who even gave me a cosmetic result on my incisions. I was concerned with my diabetes. He reassured me that this was not a problem. He made me comfortable with my post-op cast, knee walker, and now a cane. I retired from the medical field after 30 years and recognize him as the best!! Carol B.

I saw Dr. Martens due to my previous dr moving out of town. I had a damaged achilles tendon and was very apprehensive going to a new dr -- but reluctantly went. I quickly discovered that not only is Dr. Martens at the top of his profession, but he is genuinely caring and an extremely nice guy. I'm his biggest fan & couldn't be happier that circumstances occurred that I had to see to Dr. Martin. I 100% highly recommend him - especially for complicated foot issues. You're in good hands.

Centerville, OH |
Dr. Martens is professional but approachable. He never made me feel rushed but took the time to explain what was happening and what to expect next and answer all of my questions. He understands that life/work goes on even while you are recovering and works with you to balance healing and your life. I would highly recommend Dr. Marten's and his staff.

No suggestions, no help. waste of my time and alot of money
Injecting the Achilles' tendon with cortisone is not safe as it can increase risk of the tendon rupture. Im sorry you felt my refusal to do an injection was a waste of your time but it wasn't safe for you.

Dr. Martens performed a lapidis bunionectomy on my foot. After 6 weeks my foot is beautiful! My big toe had been deformed from the severe bunion on my foot. Best surgeon I've ever been too!
