Dr. Lewis' bio

This content was provided by Dr. Lewis "You do not need to spend $5000 or $6000 for top-of-the-line LASIK. LewisLASIK at $2999 total for both eyes is second to none in quality, safety, experience and clinical results. James S. Lewis, MD is a fellowship trained cornea surgical specialist, a Wills Eye Network Surgeon, and the Director of Refractive Surgery at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, the second largest training facility for eye doctors in the country. He uses the latest topographically-guided lasers and lectures nationally and internationally on surgical technique. Dr. Lewis has performed over 10,000 successful LASIK surgeries as well as over 100,000 major intra-ocular surgical procedures during the last 25 years. He performs all LASIK surgery at LewisLASIK and always includes one year of free post-operative care and any necessary enhancements.Corporate LASIK Centers promising $299 an eye for LASIK are using a bait-and-switch technique to lure patients into their facility. Sales people then explain why you should pay for an upgraded laser, an upgraded post-operative program or a femtosecond flap. Often they simply claim you don't qualify for the advertised low price. The average cost of LASIK in these centers is $4200. When deals seem "to good to be true" you can bet they are not true. LewisLASIK is a premier refractive surgery practice without a premium price. Our free LASIK evaluations are complete ocular examinations by experienced specialists. We emphasize customized results and individualized patient care. Call for a no-obligation consultation."

Dr Lewis performed a Lasik touchup on both of my eyes, correcting a minor defect on my left eye from a previous lasik; he also inserted punctual plugs which helped with dry-eye condition. My vision was superb. I would trust Dr Lewis' opinion and expertise above all the other eye doctors I have...more

Last week I had cataract surgery with Dr. Lewis. After the 1st surgery, I went home with a painful corneal abrasion. Yesterday I returned for the 2nd surgery. I asked to see him before the surgery, so he'd know about the abrasion and 2 more developments. He screamed at me that I was out of touch...more

Bette S has posted a half dozen versions of her story on different review sites. Her recollection of events differs substantially from that held by the nurses who cared for her and fellow patients who endured her temper tantrum and bullying. While I have empathy for her, I am troubled by her misrepresentations. Nevertheless, even folks like Bette S deserve the highest quality of care ... which she received. _James S. Lewis, MD
