After Duty as Chief of Internal Medicine, US Army Hospital, Berlin, Germany, Dr. Howden completed a gastroenterology fellowship at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas in 1996 and an Advanced Endoscopy fellowship at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina in 2001. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, with recertification in both in 2005. Dr. Howden retired from the Army as Chief of Gastroenterology, Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma, Washington and joined Associates in Gastroenterology in 2005. In addition to gastroenterology and hepatology, Dr. Howden has specialized in therapeutic endoscopy and pancreatic and biliary disorders. He is a member of the ACP, AGA, and ASGE.Read more
